Brightmetrics: What Does That Field Mean?
One of the questions we get asked most frequently at the support desk (email@example.com) is about what a particular field in Brightmetrics means.
At every opportunity, we take the descriptions right from ShoreTel’s data, and the information we provide comes from their documents. But it’s not very convenient for us to tell you to look up definitions in your ShoreTel manual. Additionally, many of the fields Brightmetrics offers are not available in ShoreTel. That’s why we have several convenient and easily accessible locations where you can view the meaning of a particular field. One of the locations has been available since the inception of Brightmetrics.
It’s the function called Tooltips, and it’s available when you mouse over any field in Edit Mode (for On-Demand Reports).
or the Chart Options dialog (for Dashboards).
We’ve added another place to access that information.
It’s not always handy to get the definitions via the Tooltips functions in edit mode. It could be that you don’t have permissions for edit mode, or that you just want a list of the different fields that you can include in your reports.
The Data Source Definitions Page provides this information. It’s available when you hover over our Help section in our sidebar menu seen below (or you can just bookmark in your browser the web page http://brightmetrics.com/support/datadefinitions/).
The Data Source Definitions Page allows you to select any category, data set, or field name and narrow down choices to find the specific fields you need. You will definitely want to take a look at this powerful tool. You might even find new fields that you’d like to report on that you didn’t even know were available to you!
