Set Default Sort Order for ShoreTel Reports

When you’re running a report in the Brightmetrics ShoreTel Reporting On-Demand reports area, it’s easy to run the report and click the column header on any column to sort the report by that value.

But when you are scheduling or emailing a report, users get the report in a PDF and there’s no way for them to sort columns.

Now you can set a default sort order for your report and when you run the report or when you email it, the report will start out sorted by that default value.

Sort Order

Simply click on the icon next to the value upon which you would like to sort and a new “Sort by:” area will appear in the filter area above the report. Select if you’d like “largest to smallest” or “smallest to largest” and that’s all there is to it. You can run the report from there, you can email it directly from there, or you can schedule it for delivery at regular intervals. Regardless, the default sort order will follow.

Of course, if you run it from there, it does not limit resetting the sort order by clicking on the column headers like you’ve always been able to do.
